What is a domain?

A domain is the address used to reach a website, such as example.rs. It is registered for a defined period and must be renewed. A .rs domain is a natural choice for a Serbian audience, while .com can suit an international market or a brand that operates across countries. The extension is only one signal; language, content and business relevance still matter.

What is hosting?

Hosting is the infrastructure that runs the website, database and supporting services. The choice depends on the technology, traffic, audience location, logs, backups, email dependencies and level of administration required. The supplier, term and cost should be named in the specific proposal rather than assumed.

HTTPS and business email

A TLS certificate enables an encrypted HTTPS connection and is a basic security requirement. Issuance, renewal and monitoring depend on the hosting setup. Business email on your own domain also needs correct DNS records, protected accounts and a migration plan that avoids interrupting mail delivery.

Who should own the domain?

The client should control the registrar account or be the recorded registrant, with current recovery details and renewal notices. A developer may manage DNS during the project, but access should not depend on that person’s private account. Record where the domain, DNS and email are managed before changing anything.
